Applications

Refined Glycerine is a colourless, viscous and sweet tasting liquid. It is natural and derived purely from vegetable oils.

Vance’s pharmaceutical and food grade Refined Glycerine is ideal for use in high-end applications where uncompromised quality is needed, such as applications in food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

Refined Glycerine functions as a humectant, solvent and preservative in Food and Beverages. It is widely used as a sweetener as it is natural, sweet tasting and has low glycemic index.

Non-toxic and Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS), Refined Glycerine is widely used as an excipient, and is used in a variety of drug formulations including oral and topical preparations. Refined Glycerine is also antimicrobial and antiviral.

Refined Glycerine is commonly used as an emollient that helps to retain moisture on the skin. It also functions as a humectant to attract moisture and leaves the skin soft and supple. It is a key ingredient in lotions, hand soaps, shower gels and shampoos.

Refined Glycerine is highly versatile and has more than 1,500 known end uses. It is also used in industrial applications such as tobacco, lubricants, textiles, urethane polymers, alkyd resins, surface coatings and anti-freeze.
